Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and testing of new alloys using the following equipment and procedures: Thermal shock testing, DTA, Dilatometer, tensile and hardness testing, Alloy weigh-up, Microstructure analysis following acid-etching, Mounting and polishing samples.
• Perform dental laboratory procedures including, impression taking and model fabrication; waxing, spruing, and investing test samples; melting finishing and oxidation; porcelain fabrication; soldering procedures (pre and post); fabrication of composite resin restorations; knowledge of chemical use and safety.
• Develop and maintain the skills necessary to perform the above identified duties.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum two-year Dental Laboratory Technology (A.A.S. Degree) or two-plus years of related experience required.
• One to two years’ experience in a dental lab environment.
• Materials testing experience desired.
