With the growing popularity of CAD/CAM techniques for producing Lithium Disilicate all-ceramic restorations, the art of designing full contour restorations in the esthetic zone of the mouth is becoming one of the most important skills for today's CAD/CAM dentist or dental technician. While many have mastered the processes for designing, milling and shading individual crowns or veneers, the full smile design containing 6 to 10 restorations holds a level of complexity which can seem daunting to the average individual. Whether it is the diagnostic mock up to guide the treatment planning, the design of the restorations in the CAD software, or final contouring of the definitive restorations, the techniques for developing esthetic and functionally correct contours, must be skillfully employed in order to guarantee a great restorative outcome. In this 1-day course, students will learn the fundamental concepts for developing proper contours and occlusion in a detailed diagnostic wax-up as well as strategies for transferring these contours to the final restoration.
